Gemma Hampton observes the natural world inspired by restrained simplicity and serenity. In her work, she experiments with the playful use of negative space and expressive colour palettes. Combining traditional and contemporary techniques, work is often created in mixed media. Enjoying the freedom of line drawing in ink and exploring the fluidity of painting in watercolour, she portrays an enhanced flow of energy, creating form and a sense of balance.
